Don't be put off by the many ways to bet. Craps can be a simple game to master and you throw the dice in rounds and in turn. The first dice roll you make is called the Come Out roll and this can decide the game. You will win if you roll 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12. If the dice show 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, this is called the Point and you have the chance for another roll.
On the Craps table are two side areas and a central area. Each side area is the same as the opposite side. The zones here are called Pass and Don't Pass line bets, Come and Don't Come bets, Odds bet, Place bets and Field bets. The center area is where you place your Proposition bets.
Winning/losing plays
Pass Bets - If you roll 7 or 11 in a Come Out bet, you win but you lose with 2, 3, or 12.
Don't Bets - Think of the reverse situation, where 2 or 3 gives you a win and 7 or 11 makes you lose.
Don't Bets Tie - Rolling 12 makes you tie and lets you roll again.
Types of bets
Pass Line Bet - A Natural Win is 7 or 11, while 2, 3, or 12 gives you a Natural Loss or Craps.
Odds on Pass Line Bet - When you roll a Point you can take odds with another bet.
Come Bet - Like the Pass Line bet, except that you can make a bet only after fixing the Point on the pass line.
Odds on Come Bet - Exactly the same as the Odds on Pass Line bet, except that you make a gamble on the Come Bet and not the Pass Line bet.
Don't Pass Line Bet - The Pass Line bet in reverse gives you a Natural Win for 7 or 11 first. Losing numbers are 2 or 3.
Don't Come Bet - Opposite of Come Bet where you win on 2 or 3 and lose on 7 or 11).
Place Bets - Make this bet when you fix the Point and roll 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Field Bets - One roll of dice wins all: 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12 are winning numbers. Big Six, Big Eight Bets - For 1:1 odds you bet that a 6 or 8 will come up before a 7.
